We believe strongly in providing our San Diego patients with a long-term skin care plan. The basics of good skin care include proper cleansing, moisturization, sun protection, and promotion of skin renewal and and regeneration. Skin renewal and regeneration may be promoted with proven growth factors, retinol-based products, alpha hydroxy acids such as glycolic or lactic acid, hydroquinone-based lightening agents and/or antioxidants.

Following extensive research and positive results, our practice offers SkinCeuticals™® and Obagi medical grade skin care products. Custom makeup application is performed with the Jane Iredale Mineral makeup.

Our Esthetician also specializes in proven, effective skin treatments for exfoliation, removal of sun damage, pore reduction, and treatment of hyperpigmentation: Obagi Blue Peel, Vitalize Peel, Jessners Peel, dermaplaning, and microdermabrasion are all offered for our clients in customized treatment packages.

ANTI-AGING TREATMENTS

Pumpkin Enzyme Peel - $115 / 50 min

Renew dull, dry skin and improve overall skin health with a pumpkin enzyme peel.  In addition to its resurfacing action, pumpkin enzymes also replenish skin with more than 100 beneficial nutrients to help address the signs of aging. Perfect for sensitive, oily, dry, or combination skin.

Anti-Aging Hydroxy Acid Treatment - $115 / 50 min

Slow the aging process by increasing collagen production and elastin to plump skin cells at a deeper level with a deep cleanse, exfoliation, glycolic/lactic acid treatment, and hydrating or soothing mask as needed. Improves acne scarring, hyperpigmentation, uneven skin tones, and dehydrated skin. A series of 6 treatments every 2 to 3 weeks is recommended for targeted results.

Microdermabrasion - $99 face / 50 min;  $130 / 75 min face and neck

One of the most sought after medical skin resurfacing procedures, microdermabrasion gently exfoliates the dull, dry, and damaged skin layer to encourage skin’s regeneration of collagen, elastin, and healthy skin cells. Enjoy decreased fine lines and refined skin texture and tone. Treatment includes cleanse, microdermabrasion, massage, treatment mask, and moisturizer. A series of 6 treatments spaced 2 to 3 weeks apart is recommended for best healthy, glowing, youthful skin.

Acne Treatment - $150/ 75 min

Relieve active eruptions and deeply clarify clogged pores with exfoliation, extractions, high frequency, salicylic acid and retinoic acid as needed. A series of 6 treatments every 2 to 3 weeks is recommended for targeted results.

Dermaplaning - $95 / 50 min

Dermaplaning may be used for reducing the appearance of crater-like features left by severe acne scarring. By skimming away the surrounding skin, the noticeable difference between the area levels is evened out. Dermaplaning also helps with reducing hyperpigmentation and improving overall skin tone. The skin may be very sensitive, swollen, and pink in color for a few days post procedure. Exercise extreme protection from the sun to prevent complications. Utilize the appropriate recommended sunscreen anytime skin has to be exposed to the sun.

Hand & Arm Resurfacing - $135 / 50 min

Reduce pigmentation spots and balance skin tone and texture with a deep cleanse, scrub, hydroxy acid or enzyme treatment, hydrating mask, and a luxurious arm and shoulder massage. A series of 6 treatments every 2 weeks recommended.

CHEMICAL PEELS

Vitalize "Lunch time" Peel - $135 / 30 min; Series of 3 $375; Series of 6 $700

The SkinMedica Vitalize Peel is a very superficial peel requiring little or no downtime and is safe and effective for normal, dry, oily, combination, aging, and sensitive skin.  Commonly referred to as the "lunch-time" peel, it is a special formulation of peeling agents including alpha-hydroxy acids, beta-hydroxy acids, resorcinol, and retinoic acid. Results are predictable and noticeable after just one peel to reduce hyperpigmentation, sun damage, fine lines, acne prone skin, and scarring. This powerful yet non-damaging peel can take years off aging skin and dramatic results are seen after a series of peels.

Vitalize Peel Before and After

Jessner's Peel – $150 / 50 min

Best suited for oily, acneic skin to dry out and treat skin eruptions. This peel containing both alpha and beta hydroxy acids along with resorcinol, penetrates deeper than an alpha or beta peel, but less deeply than a TCA. Not recommended for dry or sensitive skin.

Obagi Blue Peel - $600 / 90 min

If you're looking to accelerate your Transformation and interested in a chemical peel procedure, then the Obagi Blue Peel System may be right for you. Prior to and after the procedure, the use of the Obagi Nu-Derm System is recommended. The Obagi Blue Peel uses Trichloroacetic Acid (TCA) as the active ingredient mixed with the patented Blue Base from Obagi. The peel will be applied based on your level of skin damage and your desired level of Transformation.

What to expect with a Blue Peel

A mild burning sensation will occur that generally lasts only a few minutes. Then you may experience a bluish tint to your skin that usually washes off in 12 to 24 hours. You will be advised on how many peels are needed to give you the desired result.

Depending on the strength and depth following the procedure, you may experience light swelling. Within two to three days, your skin will begin to peel. This peeling continues over the next several days. By the seventh to tenth day, your skin should be healed.

Once your skin has completely recovered and is finished peeling, you will notice a visible improvement in your complexion. Your skin's appearance should continue to improve for the next four to six weeks, becoming firmer, clearer, smoother, healthier and more youthful looking.

WAXING AND THREADING HAIR REMOVAL

Threading Hair Removal for Face

Threading is a very delicate facial hair removal procedure especially suited for sensitive skin or post surgery/post laser skin. A piece of cotton thread twisted together is used to swiftly lift hair out of the follicle without disturbing the skin structure.

The least invasive method of facial hair removal, threading is highly recommended as an excellent option for those who use Retin-A, Accutane, Deep acne treatments, chemical resurfacing and peels. Full face hair removal by threading reveals smoother softer skin, allowing for uniform makeup application. This may also be combined with any of the resurfacing facials for deeper results.

Waxing Hair Removal

Remove temporarily unwanted hair quickly and stay hair free for longer than you can achieve with shaving. Regular waxing helps reduce hair regrowth over time. Facial and body waxing is offered, resulting in soft and silky smooth skin. Avoid razor bumps, nicks, or reactions to razor shaving with waxing regularly every 3 to 4 weeks.
